Government Polytechnic, Kancharapalem to Host AICTE-Approved ATAL-FDP on
“Quality Management in Manufacturing”
Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – 16 August 2024: Government Polytechnic, Kancharapalem,
Visakhapatnam, has been selected to host the prestigious ATAL-FDP-3559 program titled “Quality
Management in Manufacturing,” approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Out of 6,500 programs applied across the country, Government Polytechnic, Kancharapalem, stands as
the only polytechnic in Andhra Pradesh chosen to conduct this significant event.
The Faculty Development Programme (FDP), coordinated by Dr. K. Narayana Rao, Principal of
Government Polytechnic, Kancharapalem, with the chief patron being Gummala Ganesh Kumar,
Commissioner, AP Technical Education Department, is scheduled to take place from 19th August 2024
to 24th August 2024. The program will be conducted offline and will see participation from 50 faculty
members, scholars, postgraduate students, and industry professionals from polytechnic and engineering
colleges in and around Visakhapatnam.
Participants in the program will gain a comprehensive understanding of quality management principles,
including the implementation of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and logistics optimization. The
program will also offer practical training in various techniques such as supplier selection and multicriteria decision-making, fostering collaboration and networking among peers and experts. This
initiative aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to drive quality improvements and meet
organizational goals within manufacturing settings.
Various experts from academia and industry will be contributing to this week-long program, ensuring a
rich learning experience for all attendees.
