Dr. Kandukuri Narayana Rao embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from J.N.T.U. Kakinada, followed by a Master of Engineering (M.E) in Industrial Engineering from Andhra University, and culminating in a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from J.N.T.U. Hyderabad.
Dr. Rao has a profound professional experience spanning several years, beginning as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the Govt. Polytechnic, Visakhapatnam and progressing to roles of increasing responsibility and eventually becoming the Principal (Additional Charge), at Govt Polytechnic, Visakhapatnam Section. His tenure in these roles has been marked by regular appointments, reflecting his dedication and the trust placed in him by the academic community.
His research endeavors are extensive and impactful, particularly in the realms of Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). Dr. Rao has successfully completed numerous research projects as a coordinator, guided 2 Ph.D. scholars, and has a commendable publication record, including 100 international journal articles post-Ph.D., contributions to both national and international conferences, and authored textbooks.
Dr. Rao has been recognized for his excellence in teaching and research, receiving prestigious awards such as the Best Teacher in Polytechnics by the Department of Technical Education for 2008-2009, and the ISTE Best Polytechnic Teacher Award for Andhra Pradesh State in 2009. Beyond his academic achievements, Dr. Rao is deeply involved in professional societies, holding memberships in the Institution of Engineers (India), ISTE, and the Society of Industrial Engineering and Statistics. His leadership roles include serving as the Honorary Secretary of The Institution of Engineers (INDIA), Visakhapatnam Local Centre, and as an Executive Committee member The Institution of Engineers (INDIA), Andhra Pradesh State center during 2012-14, showcasing his commitment to advancing the engineering profession.
